Education 2.0
Our education system unfortunately at this point is such a sad example of what educating young people looks like; it resembles a business model and an assembly line more than that of a successful learning model. Growing up being home-schooled I was lucky to bypass a lot of the frustrations of the public school system and have the more individual attention for homework and tutoring, as well as being able to learn at my own pace. I think that's one of the biggest problems with the education system today is not allowing students to have the freedom to move through subjects at their own pace and in their own time. If more time is needed for one subject and not as much time needed for another, there isn't a lot of flexibility in the education system to change pace depending on the topic and subject. I personally needed more time when studying math than some of my peers needed, but my English and writing skills were above where my peers' levels were, and a lot of that was due to the fact that I could take a little bit extra time with math and if I understood my English or writing lessons I could move on. I wasn't constrained by grades or where I "should" be according to my age and year in school. My education was more personalized and customized to my individual learning needs. Today's system is too caught up in the "cookie cutter" approach to education, and unfortunately a lot of educators don't see that; it's something that needs to change soon though because the current model is not working, one educating size does not fit all.

I think this is a great idea that could be used to help students get a tailored education. I know that I struggled in writing and still do. But I know that now so I take more effort to focus on that area. Thanks
